Immigrant Dies in Hit-and-Run Collision on Interstate 10 [Eloy, AZ]

Pedestrian Injured in Fatal DUI Accident in Eloy

Eloy, AZ (August 05, 2022) – On August 3, an immigrant sustained fatal injuries in a hit-and-run collision on Interstate 10.

The investigators say that a traffic crew pulled a vehicle over on the westbound freeway at milepost 211.

Afterward, six to seven people fled from the vehicle. They ran through the median across the eastbound freeway.

Sadly, two of the people were hit by a tractor-trailer. One of them died at the scene while the other was rushed to a Tucson hospital with non-fatal injuries.

Moreover, the tractor-trailer fled the scene. The authorities later located the vehicle on the eastbound freeway on-ramp at mile marker 219.

In the meantime, officers are investigating the tractor-trailer driver for DUI.

The authorities did not locate the other people in the vehicle that was pulled over.
