Immanuel Oloya Dies in Solo Vehicle Crash on South Alaska Drive in Tucson
Tucson, AZ (February 7, 2022) – Tuesday night, 18-year-old Immanuel Oloya died in a solo vehicle crash on South Alaska Drive.
Subsequently, police arrested 19-year-old Jose Luis Chavez for leaving the scene of a fatality collision.
The fatal solo vehicle crash in Tucson happened at around 9:30 p.m. on February 1.
Tucson Police said Chavez drove a red and grey 2005 Chrysler 300 and was stopped by an officer after running a red light but he drove into a nearby neighborhood, lost control, and crashed into a wall in the 5400 block of South Alaska Drive.
He then fled the scene on foot and later found and detained in an alleyway.
Police then found the passenger, Oloya, dead at the crash scene.
