2 Dead and 1 Injured in Single-Vehicle Accident near Yuba Ranch Way
OREGON HOUSE, CA (June 10, 2018) – Two women were killed and a baby boy was injured in a single-vehicle crash on Marysville Road, early Sunday evening. The deceased victims were identified by the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office on Monday afternoon, as 27-year-old Ilya Koloyartsev and 31-year-old Jennifer Coffey, both residents of Oregon House.
The fatal accident took place on Marysville around 5:45 PM, just west of Yuba Ranch Way, according to the California Highway Patrol. Koloyartsev was the driver, and Coffey was the front passenger.
CHP responded to the scene with help from CalFire, Dobbins/ Oregon House Fire Protection District, Yuba County Sheriff’s Office, Bi-County Ambulance, and Reach Air Medical Services.
Koloyartsev was driving a Subaru Outback, when it swerved off the road and hit a tree. Emergency personnel responded to the scene and pronounced both Koloyartsev and Coffey, who were wearing seatbelts, dead. A one-year-old boy sitting in the left rear passenger side was secured in a safety seat and survived. He was flown to the UC Davis Medical Center for treatment and evaluation. There is no update on his current condition.
Authorities continue to investigate the fatal collision and think that Koloyartsev was possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident. No additional information has been released to the public at this time.
Heartfelt condolences to the bereaved loved ones of Ilya Koloyartsev and Jennifer Coffey. May they rest in peace.
