Ildiko Krajnyak Killed in Explosion on Mareblu and Pacific Park Drive in Aliso Viejo

Stephen Beal Arrested for Possession of Unregistered Destructive Device

 
ALISO VIEJO, CA (May 15, 2018) – A woman was killed Tuesday afternoon and three others were left injured after an explosion in a medical building on Mareblu and Pacific Park Drive. The victim was later identified at 48-year-old Ildiko Krajnyak, the owner of the day spa called Magyar Kozmetika.
 
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s officials, the deadly explosion happened shortly after 1 PM on the first floor of a two-story medical building located at 11 Mareblu. Krajnyak and the three injured were likely near the area where the blast started.
 
The explosion resulted in severe damages with windows and walls blown out. Debris from the incident was also seen scattered on nearby streets and establishments. An explosion with this intensity, according to officers, was suspicious and can be a result of an intentional act. The case is being investigated by the sheriff’s department with the help of the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
 
On Wednesday night, investigators found a destructive device during the service of a search warrant at a Long Beach residence. 59-year-old Stephen Beal was arrested for the possession of an unregistered destructive device, but he was not officially linked in the deadly explosion.
 
As per witness statements, Beal used to date Krajnyak and was an investor in Magyar Kozmetika. They were also listed as officers in a skin care business called I&S Enterprises. However, authorities reminded the public that Beal’s arrest was not connected to Krajnyak’s death. No other details will be released until Beal is charged.
