Hyrum Grandy of Lone Oak Involved in Deadly Collision on US 69 [Grayson County, TX]

Grayson County, TX (September 2, 2024) – A Hyundai driver, Hyrum Grandy, 40, of Lone Oak, was involved in a deadly collision on US 69 Friday night.

It was before 7:30 p.m. when the deadly crash happened near Penny Road.

Investigators determined a Hyundai Elantra was traveling south on the freeway when traffic began to slow. The driver, Hyrum Grandy, swerved onto the shoulder to avoid a collision.

Grandy then got back into the southbound lane, but struck a Ford F150 driven by Angel Martinez, 34, of Celeste.

The Hyundai then went into the northbound lane, wherein it was hit by a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Lane Recer, 29, of Trenton, on the left side.

Unfortunately, the three children, ages 10, 13, and 14, who were riding in the Hyundai, died in the collision.

Texas DPS is investigating this vehicle collision.
