Early Morning High-Speed Crash on 710 Freeway at Firestone Boulevard Kills 4 Men
SOUTH GATE, CA (May 22, 2019) – Four men were killed following a high-speed crash early Wednesday morning in South Gate.
A 2014 model M5 BMW carrying four men was racing with another vehicle on northbound 710 Freeway at Firestone Boulevard around 3:15 a.m. The driver then lost control and the car veered to the right and crashed into the metal guardrail and a pole.
All four men inside the car were killed in the crash. Family members identified the victims as Hussein Saab, Hussein Ayoub, Hussein Ghasham and Hussein Saleh, who ranged in age from 20 to 25. All of them were wearing seat belts at the time.
The second vehicle hit a wall on the right side of the freeway, but it is unclear if there were any injuries in that car.
The crash prompted an hourslong closure of several lanes of northbound 710 Freeway through the Bell Gardens area.
Speed was believed to have played a role in the deadly crash, which remains under investigation.
