House Fire on Flowerpark Drive in Santa Clarita Kills Elderly Couple
SANTA CLARITA, CA (November 30, 2019) – A husband and wife died following a fire at their Santa Clarita home on Saturday morning, authorities said.
The fire was first reported at 11:42 a.m. in the 28900 block of Flowerpark Drive.
Firefighters responded to the scene and found heavy smoke emanating from the home’s attic. They also found two people with severe injuries.
A woman in her late-70s was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman’s husband, a man in his early-80s, was rushed to a hospital in cardiac arrest, officials said. He also succumbed to his injuries.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, fire officials said.
No identification is being released at this time.
