SUV Crash on County Road 200 Injures Hunter Kirk

 
Orlando, CA (August 11, 2020) – On Sunday, 17-year-old Hunter Kirk of Elk Creek was injured in a vehicle crash on County Road 200.
 
The vehicle accident happened around 8:30 p.m. west of Orland.
 
CHP said Kirk was driving a 2003 Chevy Tahoe eastbound on County Road 200, east of County Road 206. His SUV swerved off the road and collided into a concrete drainage culvert.
 
The SUV went past the culvert hitting and uprooted a small tree. The collision with the tree made the SUV flipped onto the driver’s side.
 
Meanwhile, Kirk freed himself from the crashed SUV. Yet, he sustained moderate lacerations in his head.
 
Authorities took him to Enloe Medical Center in Chico.
 
Aim high in steering, i.e. don’t make your steering adjustments based on what is directly in front of you, but rather what is down the road. If the road is winding to the right, for example, look as far into the turn as possible. This will improve your safety and make your turns smoother.
