Humberto Velasquez Lopez Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Bernard Street
Bakersfield, CA (June 24, 2021) – On Tuesday, 55-year-old Humberto Velasquez Lopez died in a pedestrian accident on Bernard Street.
The fatal crash took place at about 9:15 p.m. at the North Baker Street intersection.
When the authorities arrived, they located Lopez suffering from major injuries.
Right away, rescuers took him to Kern Medical for treatment, where he was pronounced dead.
Moreover, officers said Lopez was crossing Bernard Street in a marked crosswalk when an eastbound 2009 Chevrolet Impala failed to notice him and struck him.
