DUI Driver Louise Allen Arrested after Crash
TAFT, CA (February 5, 2019) – Tuesday afternoon, 67-year-old Louise Allen from Taft was arrested for driving under the influence after she collided with a vehicle head-on on Highway 119.
Per reports, the accident occurred at 6:33 PM on Highway 119 in Dustin Acres Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Buick Lacrosse driven by Allen was traveling westbound in the eastbound lane and nearly collided with two Kern County Fire trucks before crashing into Humbert Vasquez Jr. from Bakersfield driving a Honda Civic. Officers were already enroute to the wrong-way driver before the crash occurred.
First responders transported both drivers drivers to the Kern Medical Center for further medical evaluation. It was reported that Vasquez sustained major injuries, there has been no update on their current medical condition.
Allen was booked into the Kern County Jail on one count of felony drunk driving causing injury, her bail is set at $10,000.
