1 Killed in Long Beach Scooter Accident on Seventh Street and Ohio Avenue
LONG BEACH, CA (July 18, 2021) – Saturday morning, Humberto Mendez Chavez was involved in a fatal crash on Seventh Street and Ohio Avenue.
According to Long Beach Police Department, the incident happened at around 3:30 a.m. Moreover, it occurred in the area of Seventh Street and Ohio Avenue.
Reports revealed that a westbound 2010 Ford Mustang struck a 32-year-old man riding a VEO Electric Scooter.
Furthermore, responders transported the victim to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, the Mustang driver, Humberto Mendez Chavez, remained at the scene to cooperate with the authorities. Chavez operated with an expired driver’s license at the time of the crash. Also, it is still unknown if Chavez was cited or arrested after the incident.
The crash is under active investigation.
