1 Person Dead in Bakersfield Auto Accident on South Sterling Road and Alto Place

BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 18, 2024) – Saturday night, a horrific vehicle crash on South Sterling Road and Alto Place killed one person.

The incident happened at around 11:35 p.m. on South Sterling Road and Alto Place.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a southbound pickup truck struck a man who was riding a horse in the southbound lane.

Moreover, responders pronounced the man who was riding the horse, dead at the scene. Then, officers confirmed that the horse that suffered serious injuries was euthanized at the scene.

Furthermore, the driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene to cooperate with the authorities.
