1 Person Dead in Petaluma Auto Accident on US Highway 101 near East Washington Street

PETALUMA, CA (November 16, 2023) – Monday afternoon, a horrific two-vehicle crash on US Highway 101 near East Washington Street killed one person.

The incident happened at around 4:42 p.m. on northbound U.S. Highway 101, south of East Washington Street.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a northbound Honda CR-V traveling at an unsafe speed rear-ended a Range Rover.

Moreover, responders rushed the 90-year-old female driver of the Honda to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Then, paramedics transported the 48-year-old male driver of the Range Rover to a hospital with minor to moderate injuries.

Furthermore, authorities withheld the identity of the deceased, pending notification to the next of kin.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
