BUELLTON, CA (July 14, 2023) – Wednesday afternoon, a horrific two-vehicle accident on Highway 101 near Jonata Park Road killed one person.

The incident happened on Highway 101, just south of Jonata Park Road.

According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, a van and a pickup truck collided for still unknown reasons.

Moreover, responders pronounced the male driver of the van, dead at the scene. Then, the pickup driver refused further treatment at the scene. Also, paramedics transported a female passenger of the pickup to a hospital with moderate injuries.

Furthermore, the crash closed a southbound lane of Highway 101 but has long since reopened.
