1 Dead in Irving Auto Accident on Interstate Highway 635 near President George Bush Turnpike

IRVING, TX (August 20, 2023) – Friday, a horrific single-vehicle crash on Interstate Highway 635 killed 1 person.

The authorities responded at about 12:40 a.m. on Interstate Highway 635 near the President George Bush Turnpike.

When the Irving police arrived, they shut down all lanes of IH-635 due to the severity of the crash.

Officers confirmed that the crash involved a single vehicle that drove into the center median of Interstate Highway 635.

As the vehicle made contact with the median, it rolled over multiple times, ejecting the passenger in the process.

Unfortunately, the passenger later succumbed to injuries. Also, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the driver or the passenger. However, they confirmed that the driver is in serious condition and could be charged with intoxication assault.

All lanes reopened at about 9:20 a.m. on Saturday.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
