1 Person Dead in Santa Barbara Auto Accident on Santa Barbara and Cota Street

SANTA BARBARA, CA (February 25, 2024) – Saturday morning, a horrific scooter crash on Santa Barbara and Cota Street killed one person.

Reports said that the incident happened at around 2:00 a.m. at the intersection of Santa Barbara and Cota Street.

According to Sgt. Bryan Kerr, a pickup truck collided with a scooter for still unknown reasons. Then, a witness said that the pickup truck continued to travel after the collision while the scooter was wedged underneath the front end of the vehicle.

Moreover, responders pronounced the rider of the scooter, dead at the scene.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Santa Barbara Police Department continued to investigate the crash.
