Multiple Injuries Reported in Eureka Auto Accident on Dolbeer Street and Harris Street
EUREKA, CA (April 19, 2023) – Tuesday afternoon, a horrific pursuit crash on Dolbeer Street and Harris Street injured 7 people.
The incident happened at about 3:00 p.m. on Dolbeer Street and Harris Street.
Eureka police came to the Bayshore Mall after receiving a report of an armed robbery and assault. Then, the three suspects fled the mall in a red truck before officers arrived.
A Humboldt County deputy noticed the suspect truck and tried to pull them over. However, the suspects declined to stop and fled.
As they fled from the deputy, the suspect truck collided with a black Toyota and into a power pole at Dolbeer and Harris streets.
Also, the suspects exchanged gunshots with deputies.
As a result, two people sustained injuries. Eventually, responders transported them to the hospital.
Also, two other non-suspects inside the suspect truck sustained injuries. Moreover, three people inside the black Toyota were injured.
Officials confirmed that the crash involved two minors—one in each vehicle.
Initially, the authorities were searching for an outstanding suspect. However, after making contact with the alleged suspect, deputies determined that the man was not involved in the crash.
