1 Dead in Sacramento Auto Accident on Watt Avenue and Myrtle Avenue

SACRAMENTO, CA (January 23, 2024) – Monday morning, a horrific police pursuit crash on Watt Avenue and Myrtle Avenue killed 1 person.

The incident happened at about 11:45 a.m. on Watt Avenue and Myrtle Avenue.

Amar Gandhi with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office revealed that a brief chase began when deputies spotted a vehicle with a code violation.

Then, the driver, an unidentified 35-year-old man, and parolee at large, struck another vehicle before hitting a light pole.

As a result, the driver was declared dead at the scene. Meanwhile, his female passenger was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Also, the other driver they struck had minor injuries and received treatment at the scene.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
