1 Dead in Anaheim Pedestrian Accident on Lincoln Avenue and Berkeley Street

ANAHEIM, CA (February 29, 2024) – Friday, a 51-year-old man died in a horrific pedestrian crash on Lincoln Avenue and Berkeley Street.

The incident happened at about 6:30 p.m. when the suspect, a 60-year-old man from Yorba Linda, drove at an unknown speed eastbound on Lincoln Avenue, west of Berkeley Street in a Ford pickup truck. Then, they hit the pedestrian, the CHP said.

Meanwhile, the preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian may have walked southbound into the path of the truck, from the center divider.

After the crash, the authorities declared the pedestrian dead at the scene. His identity remained undisclosed due to pending family notification.

Meanwhile, the driver was arrested on suspicion of causing injury while driving under the influence, Officer Sergio Rivera added.

The authorities are also looking into the possibility of a hit-and-run in addition to the vehicle vs. pedestrian collision. A preliminary investigation revealed that an additional vehicle may have hit the pedestrian and fled the scene, following the initial crash, Rivera added.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
