ANTIOCH, CA (June 25, 2024) – Sunday night, a horrific pedestrian crash on Lane Tree Way near Black Diamond Drive killed 1 person.

The incident occurred at about 10:33 p.m. on Lone Tree Way near Black Diamond Drive.

According to reports, a vehicle struck a pedestrian. Upon officers’ arrival, they located the victim with life-threatening injuries. However, the victim, a 71-year-old man from Antioch, succumbed to injuries at the scene.

Moreover, the driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Police revealed that the man was crossing the street against the “don’t walk” signal when he was hit by the vehicle.

Neither drugs nor alcohol appear to have played a role in the collision. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
