SAN DIEGO, CA (October 4, 2023) – Tuesday morning, a horrific pedestrian crash on Interstate 805 near State Route 15 killed one person.

The incident happened at around 4:38 a.m. in the No. 1 lane of north Interstate 805 near State Route 15.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle struck a pedestrian for still unknown reasons. Then, a black Chevrolet pickup truck struck the victim’s body that was already down in the pavement.

Moreover, responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Furthermore, the crash closed northbound Interstate 805 at the transition to State Route 15, but has long since reopened.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
