WICHITA FALLS, TX (October 15, 2024) – Sunday night, a horrific pedestrian crash on Interstate 44 and Missile Road killed one person.

Reports said that the incident happened at around 8:24 p.m. on Interstate 44 and Missile Road.

According to WFPD Sgt Charlie Eipper, a vehicle struck a male pedestrian who stepped out of a car and pulled onto the side of the road. Then, a 31-year-old man ran to help the victim but was also struck by another vehicle.

Moreover, responders pronounced the pedestrian, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics rushed the 31-year-old man to United Regional Health Care System with non-life-threatening injuries.

Furthermore, the driver who struck the first victim remained at the scene to cooperate with the authorities.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
