Man and Dog Dead in Santa Cruz Pedestrian Accident on 7th Avenue and Eddy Lane
SANTA CRUZ, CA (November 14, 2024) – Wednesday morning, a horrific pedestrian on 7th Avenue and Eddy Lane killed one person.
The incident happened at around 2:46 a.m. near the intersection of 7th Avenue and Eddy Lane.
The California Highway Patrol said that a southbound vehicle struck a male pedestrian and his dog. Then, the vehicle fled the scene without stopping to provide aid.
Medical personnel pronounced the man in his 30s, and his dog, dead at the scene.
Officers managed to locate and arrest the hit-and-run suspect, identified only as a 54-year-old Watsonville man, pending undisclosed charges.
Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
Due to the limited information available, the CHP continued investigating the crash.
