PHOENIX, AZ (February 26, 2024) – Saturday night, a horrific pedestrian crash near 39th Avenue and Van Buren Street killed 1 person.

The crash happened just before 6:45 p.m. near 39th Avenue and Van Buren Street.

When the officers arrived, they found a man who had died after being struck by a vehicle.

Reports said that the involved driver failed to stop and had fled the scene.

Also, the authorities said that the involved vehicle was heading east on Van Buren Street when they hit the man as he crossed the road. Preliminary information revealed that the vehicle fled the area immediately after striking the man.
