SAN DIEGO, CA (November 8, 2023) – Monday night, a horrific motorcycle crash on Interstate 805 near Interstate 5 killed one person.

The incident happened at around 8:58 p.m. on southbound Interstate 805, south of Interstate 5.

According to Salvador Castro with the California Highway Patrol, a red Honda Crosstour struck a black Harley Davidson motorcycle that was stopped in traffic lanes. Then, the force of the crash ejected the motorcyclist into the roadway. Also, another vehicle struck the motorcyclist who was already down the pavement, then fled the scene.

As a result, paramedics pronounced the motorcyclist, dead at the scene.

Moreover, the 84-year-old male driver of the Honda Crosstour remained at the scene and was not believed to be under the influence when the incident occurred.

Furthermore, the crash closed two right lanes on I-805 southbound for several hours but has long since reopened.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
