SPRING VALLEY, CA (April 17, 2024) – Monday night, a horrific hit-and-run crash on State Route 44 near Old Campo Road killed one person.

The incident happened at around 10:55 p.m. on eastbound State Route 44 near Old Campo Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol Officer Jared Grieshaber, an Audi A4 sedan struck a 65-year-old male pedestrian who was walking on the highway lanes. Then, the Audi driver fled the scene on foot without stopping to provide aid.

Moreover, responders pronounced the victim, dead at the scene.
