1 Dead in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Longpoint Road near Antoine Road

HOUSTON, TX (March 27, 2024) – Tuesday night, a horrific hit-and-run crash on Longpoint Road near Antoine Road killed 1 person.

The crash occurred on Longpoint Road near Antoine Drive. According to reports, a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was driving eastbound “at a right rate of speed” on Longpoint Road when it hit a pedestrian trying to cross the street.

Officers suspect that the victim lived at one of the apartment complexes in the area. Sgt. Rose added that there was no crosswalk where the pedestrian crossed.

Moreover, the impact of the hit pushed the pedestrian into the parking lot of a business.

Also, the Houston Fire Department declared the victim dead on the scene.

Meanwhile, a surveillance video revealed that it doesn’t appear that the driver “even tried to slow down at all.”

Officers urged people who saw the pickup truck to contact HPD at 713-884-3131 or HPD’s crash division at 713-247-4072.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
