Injuries Reported in Houston Auto Accident on Interstate 10 near Washington Avenue
HOUSTON, TX (May 20, 2023) – Last May 11, a horrific hit-and-run crash on Interstate 10 near Washington Avenue injured 3 people.
The incident happened just before 3:00 p.m. on Interstate 10 near Washington Avenue.
Rick Brown was traveling westbound to pick up his children from school when his dash camera captured a shocking event. A car spun across multiple lanes of traffic and collided with Brown’s vehicle, resulting in significant damage.
The sedan’s driver suffered injuries to the upper body and neck, as revealed by Brown. The dash camera footage also captured another vehicle, an SUV, swerving around the sedan while it was in motion.
Brown described the incident as a split-second event that caused both his Ford Excursion and the sedan to be totaled. Upon gathering the sedan driver’s account and reviewing the footage, Brown determined that a semi-truck had initiated the spin-out.
More Details on the Houston Crash
Apparently, the semi driver changed lanes and accidentally scraped the sedan’s bumper, causing it to lose control and spin across the lanes of traffic. The sedan sustained a noticeable gash on its back left side.
Regrettably, the semi-truck driver remains unidentified, having only made a brief stop before leaving the scene without offering any assistance, according to Brown.
Since the collision, Brown has been diligently trying to collect additional video evidence from witnesses and local businesses. He has shared the available footage with the hit-and-run unit within the Houston Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Division. Brown has also reported the incident to the claims division of the trucking company whose logo is visible on the side of the semi truck. However, these efforts have yet to yield any significant results.
Expressing his disappointment, Brown emphasized the need for the responsible party to come forward and take responsibility for their actions. He highlighted the urgency to provide assistance to the injured driver, replace his car, and ensure his family’s stability. Brown urged anyone who witnessed the incident or possesses additional information to contact the Houston Police.
In support of the sedan driver, who lacks insurance and suffered severe injuries, Brown has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for his recovery.
