1 Dead in Mead Valley Pedestrian Accident on Cajalco Road and Decker Road

MEAD VALLEY, CA (April 9, 2024) – Monday morning, a horrific hit-and-run crash on Cajalco Road and Decker Road killed a 37-year-old man.

The incident happened sometime between 3:15 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Cajalco Road, east of Decker Road.

“The pedestrian was struck by an unknown vehicle,” Officer Javier Navarro said. “Immediately following the crash, the driver fled the scene on Cajalco without stopping to render aid to the victim.”

A passing motorist found the pedestrian and stopped to call 911. Meanwhile, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed due to pending family notification.

Furthermore, the authorities urged anyone with information to contact the Riverside CHP office at 951-637-8000.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
