2 People Dead in Mesa Auto Accident on Country Club Drive and Main Street

MESA, AZ (December 14, 2023) – Wednesday morning, a horrific high-speed crash on Country Club Drive and Main Street killed two people.

The incident happened at the intersection of Country Club Drive and Main Street.

According to the Mesa Police, an eastbound Hyundai Elantra traveling at a high rate of speed collided with a southbound Ford Edge. Then, the force of the crash pushed the Elantra to collide with a pole.

Moreover, officers confirmed that the driver and a passenger of the Elantra died at the scene. Then, authorities said that the occupants of the Edge sustained minor injuries in the collision.

Furthermore, officials believe that impairment played a role in the crash.

Also, authorities say that the Elantra was reported stolen before the incident.

Meanwhile, the crash closed the intersection for several hours but has long since reopened.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Mesa Police continued to investigate the crash.
