2 Dead in Maricopa County Auto Accident on State Route 87 and Sheep’s Crossing

MARICOPA COUNTY, AZ (September 3, 2023) – Friday night, a horrific head-on crash on State Route 87 and Sheep’s Crossing killed 2 people.

The incident happened just before 11:30 p.m. near State Route 87 and Sheep’s Crossing.

“Deputies were advised the accident was a head-on collision with multiple occupants in both vehicles … deputies observed one vehicle was on fire. The drivers of each vehicle were pronounced deceased at the scene,” says MCSO Sgt. Joaquin Enriquez.

Officers confirmed that each car has a passenger and has life-threatening injuries. Also, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identities of the parties involved.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
