81-Year-Old Woman Killed in Amador County Auto Accident on Highway 16 and Long Gate Road

AMADOR COUNTY, CA (May 24, 2023) – Sunday, a horrific head-on crash on Highway 16 and Long Gate Road killed 1 person.

The incident happened on Highway 16, west of Long Gate Road in Amador County.

According to reports, a 2023 Dodge traveling eastbound drove into her path while trying to pass another vehicle.

Then, both vehicles veered toward the shoulder but failed to avoid a crash.

As a result, the Toyota driver succumbed to injuries at the scene. Meanwhile, the Dodge driver sustained minor injuries.

Moreover, the authorities do not believe that alcohol and drugs played a role in the crash. Also, the authorities haven’t clarified whether the Dodge driver will face charges.

“The accident is currently being investigated, any applicable charges will be filed upon completion of the investigation,” a CHP spokesperson revealed.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
