1 Dead in Mojave Auto Accident on Highway 14 and Redrock Inyokern Road

MOJAVE, CA (December 31, 2023) – Friday night, a horrific head-on crash on Highway 14 and Redrock Inyokern Road killed 1 person.

The incident happened at about 8:08 p.m. when a vehicle veered off the road, around 100 feet and landed on a ditch, north of Red Rock Canyon State Park.

Then, the vehicle caught fire.

Reports revealed that the crash was probably a head-on crash and two vehicles rolled over.

Also, the authorities shut down the southbound lanes of Highway 14 in the area. Moreover, officers diverted the northbound traffic southbound at Dove Springs Entrance.

Meanwhile, the California Highway Patrol confirmed that at least one person died.

Furthermore, the authorities advised drivers to avoid Highway 14. Highway 395 in Kern and San Bernardino counties was used as an alternate route, said Caltrans District 9.

Moreover, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the deceased due to pending family notification.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
