2 Dead and Toddler Injured in Sacramento Auto Accident on Dillard Road and SR 99

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA (June 22, 2023) – Tuesday night, a horrific head-on crash on Dillard Road and SR 99 killed 2 people.

The incident happened at about 9:30 p.m. on Dillard Road, just east of SR 99.

According to reports, a 27-year-old Ukiah resident drove a 2017 Nissan Rogue west on Dillard Road. Witnesses added that the driver followed too close and made an unsafe passing maneuver.

Meanwhile, a 37-year-old Wilton woman and her child traveled in a 2016 Nissan Altima east on Dillard Road.

As the Rogue made an unsafe turn, the Altima attempted to avoid a crash. However, the two cars crashed head-on.

As a result, both drivers succumbed to injuries at the scene. CHP clarified that the Altima driver and her toddler were properly restrained. Meanwhile, the Rogue driver failed to wear his seatbelt. Also, officers noted that he was possibly under the influence of alcohol during the crash.

Meanwhile, the 2-year-old Altima passenger sustained major injuries and was transported to the hospital.

Also, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identities of the deceased due to pending family notification.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
