Two Killed, Four Injured in Thanksgiving Night Crash on Highway 50 near South Lake Tahoe
El Dorado County, CA (November 30, 2024) On Thursday evening, 2 people were killed, while 4 others sustained injuries after a frightening head-on collision on Highway 50.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the fatal crash happened at about 5:30 p.m. on Highway 50, just east of Audrain Way.
Reports say that the head-on collision on Thanksgiving night near South Lake Tahoe left two people dead and four others injured.
CHP reported that a westbound 2001 Toyota Sequoia collided with an eastbound 2015 Chevrolet Traverse in the eastbound lane. The crash claimed the lives of the Chevrolet’s driver, an 84-year-old man from Wellington, Nevada, and a 50-year-old Fremont woman riding in the Sequoia.
The Toyota’s driver sustained major injuries, while three passengers in the vehicle suffered moderate injuries. Authorities are still investigating the cause and sequence of events leading to the crash.
