Horrific Fiery Crash on State Route 52 Kills 1 [Kearny Mesa, CA]

1 Dead in Kearny Mesa Auto Accident on State Route 52

KEARNY MESA, CA (June 2, 2024) – Early Saturday, a horrific fiery crash on State Route 52 killed 1 person.

The incident happened at about 2:30 a.m. when a male driver of the Nissan veered the roadway while proceeding eastbound on State Route 52. Then, a car crashed into the right shoulder, where the Nissan struck a large eucalyptus tree and burst into flames.

When two officers from the California Highway Patrol came to the scene, they tried to extinguish the fire, while waiting for the San Diego firefighters. Then, they found the driver lying outside of the car and was taken to a local hospital.

Firefighters found the passenger inside the vehicle. The authorities haven’t identified whether the person died from the impact or the fire.

Officers confirmed that a motorist died and another sustained major injuries.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
