SAN ANTONIO, TX (January 14, 2024) – Saturday morning, a horrific DWI crash on Highway 35 South near West Cesar Chavez Boulevard killed one person.

The incident happened at around 2:00 a..m. on Interstate Highway 35 South near West Cesar Chavez Boulevard.

According to the San Antonio Police, a southbound vehicle traveling in the northbound lane collided head-on with a northbound vehicle.

Moreover, responders pronounced a female passenger of the northbound vehicle, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported the driver of the northbound vehicle with multiple injuries and a passenger of the vehicle with critical injuries along with the driver of the wrong-way vehicle to a local hospital for treatment.

Furthermore, officers arrested the 25-year-old female driver of the wrong-way vehicle for DWI/intoxication assault.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the San Antonio Police continued to investigate the crash.
