1 Person Dead in Stanwood Auto Accident on Pioneer Highway near State Avenue

STANWOOD, WA (July 10, 2024) – Friday night, a horrific DUI crash on Pioneer Highway near State Avenue killed one person.

The incident started when authorities noticed a Cadillac Escalade that was involved in a hit-and-run, traveling at a high rate of speed near the 15200 block of State Avenue.

According to reports, the vehicle crashed for still unknown reasons at around 9:24 p.m. in the 2400 block of Pioneer Highway. Then, the force of the crash ejected a passenger of the vehicle into the roadway.

Moreover, responders pronounced the passenger of the vehicle, dead at the scene. Also, paramedics transported the 30-year-old male driver of the vehicle who showed signs of intoxication, to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett for an evaluation.

Furthermore, officers arrested and booked the man into the Snohomish County Jail for vehicular homicide, with bail set at $100,000.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office continued to investigate the crash.
