1 Person Dead in Del Mar DUI Accident on 2000 Coast Boulevard

DEL MAR, CA (June 20, 2024) – On Tuesday, a horrific DUI crash on 2000 Coast Boulevard killed one person.

The incident happened at the 2000 block of Coast Boulevard.

According to Sgt. Jeremy Collis with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, a northbound 2019 Maserati Gran Turismo veered off the roadway and crashed into a tree and a parked gray Dodge Ram for still unknown reasons.

Moreover, responders rushed a 62-year-old male passenger of the Maserati to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Furthermore, officers confirmed that the female driver of the Maserati fled the scene after the crash and was later arrested and transported to a hospital for her injuries.

Meanwhile, authorities said that the suspect will be booked at Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, vehicular manslaughter, and DUI-related charges.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department continued to investigate the crash.
