1 Person Dead in El Paso Bicycle Accident on Horizon Boulevard near Darrington Road

EL PASO, TX (September 26, 2023) – Monday morning, a horrific bicycle crash on Horizon Boulevard near Darrington Road killed one person.

The incident happened at around 3:00 a.m. on Horizon Boulevard near Darrington Road.

According to Horizon City Police, a vehicle struck a bicyclist and then fled the scene without stopping to provide aid. Then, a second vehicle struck the victim who was already down on the pavement, then fled the scene without stopping to provide aid.

Moreover, officers confirmed that the bicyclist died in the crash.

Also, authorities said that the suspect vehicles are a 2015-2018 Volkswagen Jetta and a 2007-2012 Toyota Yaris.

Furthermore, the crash closed the north and southbound lanes of Darrington, all the way from Horizon Crossing to the intersection of Horizon Boulevard and Darrington Road.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
