Horrific 3-Vehicle Crash on Garfield Avenue and Magnolia Street Kills 1 [Huntington Beach, CA]

1 Dead in Huntington Beach Multi-Vehicle Accident on Garfield Avenue and Magnolia Street

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (August 24, 2023) – Wednesday morning, a horrific 3-vehicle crash on Garfield Avenue and Magnolia Street killed 1 person.

The incident happened at about 10:30 a.m. in the area of Garfield Avenue and Magnolia Street.

According to Huntington Beach Police Department Public Information Officer Jessica Cuchilla, the crash involved a black Nissan Sentra, a white BMW 5 series, and a white Ford Ranger.

Reports said that a BMW traveled east on Garfield Avenue, east of Magnolia Street. Then, it hit the driver’s side of the Nissan which had just pulled out of a parking lot on the south side of the street.

Then, the BMW subsequently struck the Ford, which stopped in a westbound lane of Garfield Avenue.

As a result, the occupants of the Nissan, a 59-year-old Huntington Beach woman, and her male passenger, were both transported to a hospital in critical condition. However, the woman later succumbed to injuries.

Meanwhile, medical responders treated and released the BMW driver, a 40-year-old Huntington Beach woman, and the Ford driver, a 42-year-old Norwalk man. Both of them have been cooperative with the investigation.

Also, the authorities haven’t made any arrests or citations.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
