SUV-Big Rig Collision on US 287 Injures 2 People

Amarillo, TX (April 05, 2024) On Thursday morning, a disastrous 2-vehicle crash on I-40 left 2 people hurt and hospitalized.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, the SUV-big rig collision happened at about 8:20 a.m. on WB I-40 at US 287.

Reports say that a big rig was merging from the shoulder towards I-40 when the SUV struck it from the rear.

Medics airlifted a patient from the SUV to the hospital after suffering life-threatening injuries, while another person on the SUV was taken to the hospital by ground ambulance.

Authorities are investigating the brutal collision and have not released additional details about the crash.
