CALLAHAN, TX (October 5, 2023) – Wednesday, a horrific 2-vehicle crash on Country Road 258 and FM 603 killed 1 person.

The incident happened on Country Road 258 and FM 603, between Eula and Clyde.

According to reports, the crash led to the death of one person and the closure of a stretch of County Road 258 just after noon.

Clyde Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) and the Texas Department of Safety (DPS) came to the scene. Then, they confirmed that a driver on Country Road 258 was struck by another driver who crossed FM 603. As a result, the driver of CR 258 succumbed to injuries at the scene.

Meanwhile, authorities shut down a stretch of FM 603 closed off between CR 258 and FM 604, as of 1:00 p.m.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
