Horrific 2-Car Collision on State Route 821 Injures 3 People [Yakima County, WA]

Yakima County, WA (August 11, 2024) On Wednesday afternoon, 3 people were hurt and hospitalized after a 2-car collision on State Route 821.

According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the 2-vehicle crash happened at about 5 p.m. near the intersection of State Route 821 and State Route 823.

Reports say that a 2009 Mercedes Sedan and a 2014 Hunyadi Sonata were involved in the crash.

Officials say that Mercedes, driven by a 17-year-old woman, failed to yield and struck the Hyundai, driven by a 30-year-old Selah woman with two 6-year-old girls.

Both the 6-year-old girls and the teen driver were taken to MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital for their injuries.

WSP says that the teen driver was charged with failure to yield at an intersection.

Authorities are investigating the 2-vehicle crash.
