Deadly DWI Crash on Highway 59 Kills 25-Year-Old Male Passenger
Houston, TX (April 26, 2024) Early Sunday morning, a 25-year-old man died and 46-year-old Horacio Cruz Vijarro was arrested after a horrific DWI crash on US 59.
According to Houston police, the fatal crash happened at about 1:50 a.m. in the 9900 block of the US-59 Eastex Freeway.
Reports say that Vijarro was driving a pickup truck that rear-ended a passenger vehicle.
Medics say that the car’s driver and the male passenger were rushed to the hospital, where the 25-year-old male passenger ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, police detained and charged Vijarro with DWI, officials say that 46-year-old Vijarro was showing signs of impairment at the time of the crash.
Authorities are continuing the investigation and have not released further information.
