Jaywalking Pedestrian Hit and Killed in Car Accident on Crenshaw Boulevard
Hawthorne, CA (May 15, 2020)– A pedestrian accident was reported on Crenshaw Boulevard that left one man dead on early Thursday morning.
The incident occurred on May 14 involving a pedestrian and a vehicle. Paramedics arrived at the scene on 12600 block of Crenshaw Boulevard at about 5:26 a.m.
Hawthorne police Sgt. Chris Komathy said that the victim was a man in his 50s. The victim remained unidentified as of the moment but he was probably a homeless man, Komathy said.
Furthermore, the driver of the involved vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. In addition, the investigation remains on-going but the police believed that speed, drugs, or alcohol did not contribute to the accident.
