Vehicle Abandoned after Crash Reported near Brockway Summit Tahoe Rim Trail Trailhead
TAHOE VISTA, CA (September 6, 2018) – A vehicle was abandoned late Thursday evening after a hit-and-run collision on Highway 267.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the possible solo-car accident took place around 10:34 PM near Brockway Summit Tahoe Rim Trail Trailhead.
Reports showed that an unidentified vehicle was found over the side of the fence on the side of the roadway. No one was found inside the vehicle when officials responded to the scene. Authorities reported that two traffic signs were taken out and at least 20-30 feet of steel guardrail and post were damaged by the impact of the collision. Events leading up to the collision are unclear at this time.
The medics coordinated with Tahoe Forest Hospital for possible walk-in patients with collision injuries. No details regarding the accident were released as an investigation remains on-going.
