Suspect in Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Crash on SR-53 At Large
Clear Lake, CA (May 31, 2024) On Sunday afternoon, a 23-year-old female pedestrian from Clearlake was found dead after a hit-and-run crash on State Route 53.
According to Clear Lake CHP, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash happened at about 1:53 p.m. on SR-53, north of Anderson Ranch Parkway.
Reports say that a northbound vehicle struck a woman and then fled the scene without stopping to render aid to the fallen pedestrian.
First responders attempted to save the woman’s life, but the woman ultimately succumbed to her injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
Authorities are searching for the suspect driver and vehicle who remains at large.
The fatal incident is under investigation.
