1 Injured in Ventura Motorcycle Accident on Pacific Coast Highway near Emma Wood State Beach
VENTURA, CA (May 8, 2024) – Monday afternoon, a startling hit-and-run crash on Pacific Coast Highway near Emma Wood State Beach injured 1 person.
The incident happened at about 4:30 p.m. on Pacific Coast Highway near Emma Wood State Beach.
According to reports, a 23-year-old Oak View man rode a Harley-Davidson. Then, he crashed into a gray sedan, causing him to be ejected from his bike. Meanwhile, the involved driver fled the scene.
The Toyota Camry likely sustained major damage to its left rear side, including a broken left taillight assembly, as per the California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials’ news release on Tuesday evening.
Following Monday’s crash, the motorcycle came to rest on its side on the left shoulder of southbound PCH, just south of the state beach and near the transition to Highway 101. The rider, a 23-year-old, suffered injuries to his right arm, legs, and head, and was in critical condition. He was airlifted to Ventura County Medical Center. However, as of Tuesday, no update on his condition was available.
After the collision, the Toyota Camry reportedly continued southbound and merged onto southbound Highway 101 toward Ventura, according to the CHP’s statement on Tuesday.
The authorities urged any motorists who were on Highway 101 north of Ventura around 4:50 p.m. on Monday and witnessed anything unusual or suspicious, including a vehicle matching the description of the suspect car, to contact the Ventura Area CHP office at 805-662-2640.
