Pedestrian Hospitalized After Crash on Madeira and Zuni RD SE in Albuquerque
Albuquerque, NM (August 7, 2024) – On Wednesday, a pedestrian sustained injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Madeira and Zuni RD SE.
At around 11:15 AM, an Albuquerque Police officer patrolling the International War Zone District witnessed a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle near Madeira and Zuni RD SE.
The vehicle then fled the scene, heading eastbound on Zuni RD SE.
APD and Albuquerque Fire quickly arrived to treat the pedestrian, who suffered severe head trauma, bleeding, and visible injuries to their extremities.
The victim was transported to UNMH in critical condition.
At the scene, police were seen investigating a mirror left in the roadway, which appeared to be from the suspect vehicle. Officers blocked traffic on Zuni between Madeira Dr and Palomas Dr SE.
